( SYLMAR , CA ) January 20, 2006 — Quintessence Photonics Corporation, a world leader in the design and manufacture of high brightness, high power semiconductor lasers, announced the release of 20 Watt 1532 nm laser bars.

These CS-mounted conduction cooled products operate at 1532 nm in the eye-safe wavelength regime and feature industry leading power from a 19 element, 20% fill factor bar geometry.

“Efficient diode pumping of Er:YAG is possible at 1532 nm because of the reduced quantum defect compared to 980nm pumping architectures. Our customers now have the option of both 1470 nm and 1532 nm diode pumps for Er:YAG as they optimize their particular system’s parameters.
