(SYLMAR, CA) March 28, 2006 — The United States Army has awarded Quintessence
Photonics Corporation a contract for development, performance testing, and delivery
of high power semiconductor lasers in the eye-safe wavelength regime.
QPC was competitively selected for the contract which focuses on spectrally tailored
high efficiency high power semiconductor lasers utilizing QPC’s proprietary internal
Bragg grating technology. The devices are ideal for long wave pumps for solid-state
lasers in the eye-safe regime because of their high spectral brightness, reduced
temperature sensitivity, and precise center wavelength accuracy.
“Our defense and commercial customers have developed an increasing number of
compelling applications for laser systems in the eye-safe wavelength regime. We are
delighted to receive this contract to enable the broad deployment of systems with
high system efficiency, compact size, and reduced cost” stated Paul Rudy, Vice
President of Marketing and Sales at Quintessence.
