Jeffrey Ungar, Ph.D., President, CEO
Dr. Ungar founded QPC Lasers after a 17 year career at Ortel Corporation, a pioneer in the development of analog fiberoptic technology for CATV. He joined that company in 1983 as one of the first five employees, and stayed at Ortel until after its sale to Lucent Technologies in 2000 for $3 billion. At Ortel, he occupied senior positions including Director of Advanced R&D for Optoelectronic Components and Director of Material and Structure Technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from Caltech.

George Lintz, MBA, CFO, COO, Executive Vice Chairman
Mr. Lintz founded QPC after a fifteen year career in investment banking. He founded Lintz Glover White & Company in 1987 and ran the NASD Broker-Dealer until it was acquired in December 1999. During his tenure at Lintz Glover White, he financed a number of early stage companies from the technology and finance industries. Mr. Lintz founded and served as Chairman of G&H Financial, a commercial finance lender from 1989 to 1994, in which capacity he provided asset-based financing for manufacturing companies. In 1994, he was appointed by the California State Senate to serve as an advisor to their Local Government Investment Committee. As an advisor, Mr. Lintz assisted in drafting the legislation that governs investment practices of state and local government entities in California. Mr. Lintz served as the Chairman of the financial advisory panel appointed by U.S. Congresswoman Diane Watson. He received his MBA in Finance from New York University in 1984.

Thomas Stakelon, Ph.D., Vice President of Quality Control
Dr. Stakelon serves as the VP of Engineering at QPC Lasers where he is responsible for managing the engineering resources that are delivering the company’s new products. Most recently, as President of LD Fiberoptics, he launched a small subsidiary of Agere’s for the automated manufacture of passive optical components. Prior to this, he was Director of Engineering at Spectra-Physics, Inc. where he led development and reliability qualification of high power laser diode products for pumping solid state lasers, materials processing, telecommunications and other markets. During a long career at Agere Systems and Lucent Technologies, Dr. Stakelon successfully introduced important new optical products for telecommunications. He is responsible for numerous patents, publications and short courses. He holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Illinois.

Paul Rudy, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales
Dr. Rudy brings to QPC Lasers more than 10 years of experience in the laser industry. Prior to joining QPC, Dr. Rudy served as Director of Marketing at Coherent Inc.’s Semiconductor Business Unit. There, he led the tactical and strategic marketing activities of the high power diode laser business, overseeing product management and developing strategies for the business unit’s technology, products, and markets. Prior to this role, Dr. Rudy worked as Coherent Inc.’s North American Market Development Manager responsible for developing and executing sales and tactical marketing strategies for the corporation’s defense and graphics arts business. He has also held positions as product manager for unmounted bars and diode arrays and regional sales. Dr. Rudy received his masters and doctoral degrees in physics from the University of Rochester and earned a B.S. and B.A. in physics and philosophy with honors from Duke University.

Ron Moeller, Vice President of Manufacturing

Mr. Moeller joined QPC in June 2007 and brings 20 years successful industry experience in manufacturing, engineering and operations management at growth semiconductor, laser and photonics companies.

He joins QPC from Kotura, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of silicon photonics, where he served as VP of operations and manufacturing since 2004. Prior to that he held a number of management positions with Ortel Corporation, Multilink Technology Corporation and Phasebridge, Inc. Mr. Moeller earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Blima Tuller, Vice President of Finance & Chief Accounting Officer
Ms. Tuller joined QPC in October 2006 from Ameripath where she served as Vice President of Finance of Ameripath’s Esoteric Division. From February 2005 to January 2006 she served as Director of Finance of Specialty Laboratories, a NYSE listed clinical reference laboratory that was acquired by Ameripath in January 2006. From February 2003 to February 2005, Ms. Tuller led Specialty Laboratories Internal Audit department, developing an Internal Audit function and bringing the company into compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. From 1998 to 2003 Ms. Tuller held a variety of positions at the public accounting firms of Arthur Andersen LLP and KPMG LLP, most recently as a Manager in the Management Assurance Services practice at KPMG. She received her B.B.A. in Accounting from Cleveland State University.

Wentao Hu, Ph.D., Vice President Engineering
Dr. Hu joined QPC Lasers in 2004 as Technical Manager of Laser Subsystems and was promoted to VP of Engineering in 2007. From 1997 to 2004, he served as VP of High Power Lasers at Quantranix Corporation, a subsidiary of Excel Lasers. While at Quantranix, he managed R&D and production of High-power Solid State Lasers, founded and managed the Lasers Applications Center, and worked closely with the CEO in managing all operations. Prior to joining Quantranix, Dr. Hu was a research scientist at Institute of Industrial Science and Technology in Pohang, Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Optical Engineering in 1995 from the Shanghai Institute of Optics & Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, P.R.CHINA. He received his Bachelor in Optical Engineering in 1990 from the Department of Optical Instrumentation Engineering, Zhejiang University, P.R.CHINA. Dr. Hu has published and presented over 40 papers at conferences and in journals (LEO, ICALEO, Applied Optics, Optical Engineering, Chinese Journal of Lasers, Acta Optica Sinica) and he has been granted two patents and has one pending.
