Jeffrey
Ungar, Ph.D., CTO and Founder
Dr. Ungar is responsible for the company's
technological innovations and product enhancements as well as global
strategic roadmap. Dr. Ungar founded
QPC after a 17 year career at Ortel Corporation, a pioneer in
the development of analog fiberoptic technology for CATV. He joined
that company in 1983 as one of the first five employees, and stayed at
Ortel until after its sale to Lucent Technologies in 2000 for $3
billion. At Ortel, he occupied senior positions including Director of
Advanced R&D for Optoelectronic Components and Director of
Material and Structure Technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear
Physics from Caltech.

Wentao
Hu, Ph.D., Vice President Engineering
Dr. Hu is responsible for the company's Product Engineering and
Development. He joined QPC in 2004 as Technical Manager and was
promoted
to VP of Engineering in January 2007. From 1997 to 2004, he
worked at
Quantronix Corporation (now a subsidiary of GSI). At Quantronix, he
occupied senior positions including Director and Vice President,
managed the R&D and manufacturing of high power solid-state
lasers,
as well as the laser applications center. Dr. Hu received his Ph.D. in
Optical Engineering in 1995 from SIOM (Shanghai Institute of Optics
& Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences) for his pioneer
work
on DPSSL in China. Dr. Hu has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed
journals and professional conferences and has been granted three
patents.

Laurent
Vaissie, Ph.D., Vice President Marketing and Sales
Dr. Vaissie is responsible for the company's global marketing and sales
activities as well as strategic roadmap. Dr. Vaissie joined QPC in 2007
as Product Manager and was promoted to
Director then V.P. of Marketing and Sales in 2008 and 2009
respectively. From 2004 to 2007, he led the development and
technical marketing of "eyesafer" high power ultrashort pulse
lasers at
Raydiance Inc. Dr. Vaissie holds a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics from
Ecole
Centrale Marseille and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the College of
Optics/CREOL for his work on high power grating-coupled semiconductor
laser
diodes. He holds six granted patents and has written over twenty
publications in scientific journals and trade magazines. He is a member
of OSA, SPIE and DEPS.

Steve Benda, Director Business
Development - Defense and Homeland Security Programs
Steve Benda is responsible for the company's Defense related programs and
products. Steve started his career designing high powered lasers for
military applications with Martin Marietta in Denver,
Colorado. Over a span of 20 years, he has held various high
level business development and program management roles.
Recently, Steve served as senior sales and business development leader
for Continuum Lasers and General Atomics (Photonics Division), where he
worked closely with major DOD and DOE customers on various classified
and unclassified laser programs.
